Here are the bits and pieces of my internship at Balenciaga during the Summer of 2012. I’ve decided to post a few different posts of pictures that show the projects and tasks I was given. Also, there was a shiny reflective mirror right outside the office which was perfect for OOTDs selfies. Evidently, black was my favourite colour that summer.
As you enter Balenciaga (Executive offices on the 3rd floor), you would see me sitting at a small white desk, very minimalistic of course, and the glass room to my right would be Luca, the CEO’s office. In his office, there was a view of the streets of Chelsea. And by the window sat the iconic All Front Caged “lego” heel from the Fall/Winter 2007 Collection.
One of my main projects throughout the internship was to create the Men’s Fall RTW retail product book for all stores across America. This book was intended to be a product knowledge guide for all retail employees to use.
During my second week of work, I was assisting the PR team during Market week and Cynthia Leung, the PR rep of Balenciaga gave me the very important intern job of getting Anna Wintour’s coffee. Yes, it’s as big of a deal as it was in Devil Wear’s Prada and apparently, some interns have failed. I had to get two piping hot Grande Wet Cappuccinos and deliver them as Anna entered the building. After dropping off the first two Cappuccinos, I immediately left to Starbucks for the second batch in case Anna was late. Thankfully it was all a success and the server told me that they served the first cup to Anna and she was pleased.
I also had the privilege of making a VIP delivery to Vogue. If it weren’t for this job, I wouldn’t have been able to go to Conde Nast (4 Times Square) and see those big five shiny letters V-O-G-U-E behind the glass doors. It was breathtaking.
