Kadoya Japanese Restaurant on Denman street

Opening their second location on Denman with a 2nd floor view of English Bay, I think I’ll have to go to this Kadoya more often. I’ve been to their original and smaller location on Davie but avoided it because it was always so crowded. Kadoya is basically a Japanese restaurant with a large selection of popular creative rolls. After lunch, the bill came to a total of $40.00 for two people.

What I ordered (my favourites are bolded):

  1. Volcano Roll 5/5 – Spicy salmon with sesasme sauce. The perfect mixture!
  2. Beef tataki salad 3/5 – I liked the beef tataki but I thought the dish was too salty because of the amount of soy sauce they poured into the salad.
  3. Spicy Salmon 5/5 – The salmon was fresh and soft and the spicy sauce went well with it. You might want to order a bowl of rice to go along with this.
  • Ambiance 3/5
  • Service 4/5

Verdict: I would go back to Kadoya on Denman street for rolls and spicy sashimi.
